Professional Fly Fishing Guide

I am a Colorado native who's been guiding and teaching in Southwestern Colorado for the last 14 years specializing in multi-day float trips down the Black Canyon of the Gunnison River with Gunnison River Expeditions. Clients such as former President Jimmy Carter and singer Joe Cocker fish with me during the famous stonefly hatch in the Black Canyon.
Along with my guiding career, I graduated from Colorado College and went on to earn a Master's in English at Colorado State Universtiy where I combined my passion for rivers and fly-fishing into a college course I taught at Colorado College: Reading and Writing the River through Fly-fishing, Boating, and Back-packing.
This course developed into a saltwater fly-fishing adventure: Reading and Writing Rivers and Oceans of Honduras. Students learned to saltwater fly fish for permit and bonefish on the island of Roatan, while reading and writing about oceans.
After teaching this writing course, I united with Scott Duncan and started Fly Fish Guanaja, a new saltwater fly-fishing lodge on the remote island of Guanaja, off the coast of Honduras. The lodge is a private island surrounded by flats full of bonefish, permit, and more. Ten local natives make up the staff of Fly Fish Guanaja and are earning a reputation as the best team in the Caribbean.
I share my time between the Rocky Mountains and the Caribbean, leading clients on remote adventures in the endless pursuit of wild fish. My passion for fishing and teaching are exemplified in my writing, guiding, and business.
