Born in Richmond, VA, I began fly-fishing for bluegill and bass at the ripe young age of 9. Since then, struck with a deep-seated love for this sport, I have taken myself around the world both as a fisherman and professional guide. Honing my skills in Virginia, I decided to go west and add to my experience by guiding on one of the most prolific trout fisheries in the country, the Green River in Utah.

For a few years I got into a great rhythm…spending long summers on the Green and winters and springs guiding on several different rivers in Chile. Most recently, the Gunnison River in Colorado and Middle Fork of the Salmon in Idaho has been my playground and worksite. For enjoyment, I have chased all different species of fish from permit, bone and tarpon in the British Virgin Islands, Belize and Florida to steelhead in Oregon and Washington.

After moving back to Virginia and teaching high school English for four years, I decided to start a fishing camp for kids and a smallmouth bass guide service. Virginia Fishing Adventures offers both day and overnight camps for boys and girls ages 9-16 as well as guided fishing trips.

I am also running Emerald Water Anglers student travel arm for siimilar aged kids to immerse themselves in the sport of fly fishing and the culture surrounding it in locations around the U.S. and the world.
