The Colorado River is simply, legendary and Emerald Water Anglers is permitted on
over 100 miles of the Colorado, from State Bridge, through Glenwood Springs and
past Rifle.
The Colorado is one the biggest rivers in the West, full of unlimited possibility. Every cast is an opportunity to tie into a giant trophy pushing 30 inches. We regularly catch rainbows and browns in the 16-24 inch range. The rainbows on the Colorado are unique in their football shape, these fish are tall, girthy, and fierce.
We also catch big white fish, pike-minnows, flannel mouth suckers, and bony-tail chubs. Diversity in fish and scenery is amazing. We float through historic ranch land in expansive valleys, deep canyons, and mountains.
We are one of the only outfitters to guide fishing in the coveted Glenwood Canyon, eight
miles up from Glenwood. The canyon is the most spectacular stretch of the Colorado River with walls over 2000 feet towering over the river. Train tracks bring trains and an historical ambiance. We also offer overnight trips on the upper Colorado River camping on a private ranch with private fishing water.
Luckily, the Colorado River is one of the most over-looked fisheries, and we generally have this immense river to ourselves.
