Nestucca River, Oregon

The Nestucca originates in the Coast Range Mountains, flowing 50 miles southwest through several small coastal towns before reaching Nestucca Bay and the Oregon coast. Known as one of Oregon’s top coastal producers of spring Chinook and wild winter steelhead, the Nestucca also hosts runs of fall Chinook and hatchery summer steelhead. On any given day of the year, the Nestucca is loaded with anadromous fish.
Our guided float trips take advantage of the native winter steelhead runs that ascend the river each February, March, and April.
While the bounty of the Nestucca is no secret, our guided float trips will take you down the upper river, where technical water keeps most boaters away. With more than six boat launches and a variety of float options, our guided fishing program on the Nestucca is flexible and adjustable.
The Upper Nestucca is typified by broad riffles, boulder strewn runs, smooth tailouts, and structural ledges. A small to medium sized river, the Nestucca is perfect for anglers of all casting and fishing abilities. Casts longer than fifty or sixty feet are rarely necessary, although sometimes come in handy.
Accommodations are located in nearby Pacific City, only 15 minutes from your fishing destination. Multi day trips may entail fishing the nearby Trask, Wilson, and Nehalem Rivers (15 to 45 minutes north).
