The Tierra del Fuego region is rich with angling history at some of the longest standing fly fishing lodges in the world and the Rio Grande and Rio Gallegos are at the top of anglers bucket list all over the world. We have chosen to work with these two lodges for various reasons.
Most notably we enjoy small sized groups at lodges so the experience is intimate and personal to each angler on the trip. You know everyone on the trip in a matter of a day or so and the staff will know you by the time you step out of the vehicle.
The Rio Grande is king with exceptional runs of large sea run browns taken on two handed rods. The Rio Gallegos is a smaller watershed with a more intimate feel, covered well in some instances by single handed rods as well as two handers. One aspect to Las Buitreras Lodge is the incredible amount of private water they have access to providing ample time for runs to rest between anglers producing more active fish.
