Fly fishing Kamchatka in Russia for large wild rainbow trout or in Kola for Atlantic Salmon should be on everyone's bucket list. Russia is an enormous country spanning nearly the entire width of Asia however Kamchatka is a mere 4 hour or so flight from Anchorage making it more attainable that most think.

Transport is via Russian helicopters to the headwaters of various river systems between 2 and 6 hours away. The difficulty in accessing most of these rivers means bears are the primary inhabitant.
