Your host is there to ensure you have as enjoyable a trip as possible from the beginning of the selection and planning process to your equipment choices and the photographic memories afterwards. We are passionate about new water and species while seeking the cultural aspects of these destinations. While looking for a unique and memorable experience, ensuring you are prepared for the demands of the trip is our priority.
Take a look below to see if we are visiting a location you are interested in as we would love for you to join us. If there is a trip you are interested in which we do not have listed here or on our site, please let us know as we would be happy to investigate the possibility of putting a group together and if we can answer any questions at all, please do email or call, we would be happy to discuss with you.

Join us for a backcountry experience like few other states can offer. Riding in on horses with pack mules, we will explore one of the many clusters of alpine lakes in the Mazama region. These trips provide the quintessential western fly-fishing, horseback riding and camping experience, so dust off those boots and jeans! Base camp at the edge of a remote lake and fish the surrounding waters include inflow and outflow streams as well as the lakes themselves. Scenery is unparalleled and you will see areas of our state seen by most from 30,000 feet above. (No horseback experience necessary)
Join EWA steelhead guides Reid and Tom on a week long trip to the legendary Skeena River in BC. Uniquely positioned on 700 acres , 6 miles downstream of the Bulkey river and 9 miles downstream of the Kispiox confluences, Skeena Meadows is perfectly stationed on the legendary classified “Skeena 4” waters. With three miles of private river bank and additional mileage of adjacent public land, there is more than enough good swing water to keep us busy all week. This is a self-guided trip with exclusive access to the entire lodge property.
Caldwell will be taking a passionate group who want or need just a bit more cowbell in their lives. Cowbell of course being tarpon in this case. Great mangrove tarpon fishing for fish ranging from 10-40 pounds and the potential for a few a bit larger. Novice or experienced anglers will revel in this trip as the new angler will get lots of shots at fish, learning with each one while the experienced angler just tally’s up the score or takes in the scenery between shots. Either way this will be a fun trip for those traveling with us.
This trip with our friends at Tourette Fishing out of South Africa is still a bit in the exploratory stages of development. We board our boat in Port of Sudan and head out to the banks of the Nubian Desert to explore literally untouched waters for big GT’s and more triggers than you have likely ever seen. Indo Permit are also around for those with the bug up their bum for them. We have done other trips with Tourette and they are as professional as it comes in our industry. For the adventurous soul, this could be a trip difficult to replicate.
Two days of fishing for Arctic Char off the southern tip of Greenland and then back to Iceland to chase Atlantic Salmon in two different river systems there. This is a great trip to explore the region and see what all the buzz is about in the North Atlantic!
March 14-21, 2018 — Host: Dave
7 night/6 day lodge package — $8500 per angler (pricing may vary for 2018)
10 anglers maximum — 7 Rods Open
Not just a GT destination as there are plenty of other amazing fly rod species here such as Milkfish, Bumpheads, Triggers and bonefish but the GT for many is the pinnacle of fly tackle challenges as these fish will find any weak link in tackle and exploit it, blow it up and spit it back at you…or simply just take it! Hands down one of the most desired destinations on the planet for experienced saltwater anglers and very likely on everyone’s bucket list.

With our long time friends Marty and Mia Sheppard, we have exclusive access to 30,000 acres or 6 river miles of pristine steelhead water while staying in a cabin down in the canyon near the river. The John Day River has the largest in tact run of wild/native steelhead in the entire Columbia River basin.
Join us on this adventure deep into the jungles of Brazil in pursuit of big peacock bass. For those who have not tangled with these fish before, it is an electrifying experience from the sight casting to the take and everything else involved. Throwing large surface poppers and streamers, these fish are as exciting on a fly rod as any fish you will find. Stay on small floating boats each night and fish during the day as our boat camp is moved to a new location each evening.

Being based in the PNW and with steelhead running thick in our blood, any trip where we put two handed rods in our hands to swing flies for big anadromous fish, we get pretty excited about it. This is no exception as we take our skill set to the southern hemisphere to pursue sea run browns in the Rio Gallegos. We chose this lodge for several reasons, please contact us to discuss why Las Buitreras Lodge…
