There has long been a fond view of fly fishing the South Pacific by anglers which began with and remains in part due to the expansive flats of Christmas Island. For years other more adventurous anglers went in search of similar habitats in the region where giant 20+ pound bonefish roamed flats undisturbed by anything but nature. Some success have been found and a few have been able to carve out niche operations in these limited access areas. Below is a brief list of those we work with and have for over a decade now in their special locations.
Fiji — Henry Murray is a Canadian who has been guiding the flats around certain parts of Fiji for over 20 years now and has dialed in those close to him. He is located on the island of Tavewa in the Yasawa group on the western side of the Fijian islands.
Tahiti — Frank Murphy has been in the region for well over 15 years and has been witness to the vast schools of large bones and cruising Trevally on a regular basis since he set foot here. Not all islands are created equal but Frank can help you to arrange the proper vacation in Tahiti if fly fishing is a part of your plan to the Rangiroa or Tetiaroa regions.
Cook Islands — We have worked with Butch Leone from our own beginnings. Butch has been living on Aiutaki Lagoon for decades and knows the flats better than anyone. Connections with local resorts, Butch can make sure you are in the right place for pursuing the large bones of the lagoon.
