With decades of experience as a professional in the sport of fly fishing, Dave has traveled the world as an angler, photographer and wild fish steward. Whether you choose to spend your time with Dave or another of our exceptional staff, you’ll have access to all of the experience the EWA team brings to the table.

Single Hand/Spey Casting Instruction

Fly casting is the single most important and broadly used skill in our sport. Being proficient will enhance your experience beyond words and we are here to accelerate your skills.

Fly Fishing 101 School

Who | Women's Only and Co-Ed for all genders and identities.
Experience | Never held a fly rod to limited experience and looking to become autonomous on the river.
What | Learn the basics of casting, fly selection based on entomology, knot tying, wading safety, line management and C&R fish handling techniques.
Where | South Fork Snoqualmie River
When | Class begins at 9am and ends at 4pm
Why | To gain introductory knowledge, build community, and learn to be autonomous on the water

Fly Fishing 101/201 Retreats

Who | Women, Trans, Femme and Non-Binary
Experience Level | Autonomous, fish on our own, looking to improve skills and meet people
What | Learn the next levels of fly fishing with dry flies, nymphs and streamers, advanced casting techniques, line management, reading and approach to the water, fly selection based on entomology and various ways to cover the same water.

Where | Yakima and Cle Elum rivers at Lake Easton State Park 
When | Begin at 10am and end at 4pm day two. Participants can leave at any time on day two.
Why | To become an autonomous fly angler, gain more advanced knowledge, build community and extend your comfort level on the Yakima River and similar watersheds

Fly fish already and want help translating your existing skills into a saltwater experience? These are your schools. New casting techniques, equipment, knots and approach specifically for tidal watersheds.

We offer a variety of fly tying classes from multi-day progression classes for beginner to private instruction as well as group tying events such as Bug's and Brew's and Tie One On Tuesday.

Boat Rowing School

This school is for those wanting to better understand how to safely operate boat with oars on moving water. Whether it is a single person pontoon, raft or drift boat, we will cover basic oar strokes, reading water for speed, depth and direction and creating navigational plans for multiple move, technical pieces of water.
