Who We Are and Why

Located in downtown West Seattle, we're Seattle’s only premier fly fishing retail store, professional guide service, spey specialists and fly fishing travel experts. But most importantly, it's our goal to ensure that the sport of fly fishing is sustainable, sensitive, and welcoming to all.

Environment | Impact | Sustainability

Climate change is a sprawling, daunting challenge. Transportation and industry produces a majority portion of the world’s climate pollution. We drive trucks and fly on planes to reach our favorite fishing destinations and sell products to help land the fish that brought us there but we also recognize climate change poses terrible threats to our natural resources we are dependent upon, especially the trout and salmon fisheries reliant on clean, cold water.

We look forward to the days when we can pull a drift boat to a local river with an electric truck or fly to a tarpon flat in a plane powered by carbon neutral fuels. Until then, we believe carbon credits for offset projects are part of our responsibility as anglers and we are thrilled to be supporting projects that align with our core values and mission.

We are excited to announce that as of 2019 we will forever be a carbon neutral business residing in Built Green/Built Smart building here in West Seattle.

Actions Speak Louder Than Words

We know that anyone can say that they're committed to change and the environment. We hope through our partnerships and our actions we not only prove we are but also inspire conversation to help lead others to follow suit. The initiatives below are just a few examples of ways we're putting our money where our mouths are, and making real change starting here at EWA...

Carbon Offsets

We have partnered with two organizations to procure real, additional and permanent offsets. With Cool Effect, each of their projects are ethically proven and scientifically validated providing confidence and transparency in their projects and over 90% of every dollar goes directly to their project partners. We also sought a nature-based solution in our backyard by buying carbon offsets with King County Forest Carbon Program. A tangible offset we here in the Seattle area can go experience every day.
