Due to COVID, please contact us regarding travel as the world deals with this virus, each location and part of the world is dealing with it differently. Most travel is being rescheduled to the following year but it does vary.
Our hosted fly fishing travel program exists because our adventure yearning staff wants to share some of the more exclusive and off the beaten path fly fishing locations around the world…and while there are so many we are quite discerning about the ones we choose.Your host is there to ensure you have as enjoyable a trip as possible from the beginning of the selection and planning process to your equipment choices and the photographic memories afterwards. We are passionate about new water and species while seeking the cultural aspects of these destinations. While looking for a unique and memorable experience, ensuring you are prepared for the demands of the trip is our priority.
Take a look below to see if we are visiting a location you are interested in as we would love for you to join us. If there is a trip you are interested in which we do not have listed here or on our site, please let us know as we would be happy to investigate the possibility of putting a group together and if we can answer any questions at all, please do email or call, we would be happy to discuss with you.
Emerald Water Anglers Hosted Fly Fishing Travel
4 day/3 night all inclusive package — $ ?? Inquire per angler
4 anglers per trip maximum
Join us for a back country experience like few other states can offer. Riding in on horses with pack mules, we will explore one of the many clusters of alpine lakes in the Mazama region. These trips provide the quintessential western fly-fishing, horseback riding and camping experience, so dust off those boots and jeans! Base camp at the edge of a remote lake and fish the surrounding waters include inflow and outflow streams as well as the lakes themselves. Scenery is unparalleled and you will see areas of our state seen by most from 30,000 feet above. (No horseback experience necessary)
Steelhead sized rainbows on Skykomish sized river in Alaska. We fish exclusively with two handed rods and swing flies to the unreal trout, many of which have never seen a fly before. Rustic lodging on the river with a hard working, experienced staff willing to fish as hard and as long as you want to fish.
On our first trip to this region, this camp was just being explored and it was unreal. Now years later our friends at Untamed Angling have nailed this down and it is one of the most amazing fly angling experiences on the planet, from all point of view…adventure, angling, food, remoteness…you name it this will not disappoint!
For the adventurous angler, this will be akin to our trip to Sudan with some travel and semi arduous angling conditions. In other words if you like the idea of wading flats and casually tossing 12wts at big GT’s this is your trip! Other species include bonefish and triggers with snapper mixed in as well. One of the aspects of this trip we are excited about is the ability to interact with the local Polynesians and glean some of their culture from the experience of the trip. Please be in touch with Dave soon if interested.
Providence, Seychelles — GT’s!
April 11 – 19, 2022 — Host: Dave
9 night/6 day lodge package — $$$$ per angler
8 anglers maximum — 2 Rods Open
Not just a GT destination as there are plenty of other amazing fly rod species here such as Milkfish, Bumpheads, Triggers and bonefish but the GT for many is the pinnacle of fly tackle challenges as these fish will find any weak link in tackle and exploit it, blow it up and spit it back at you…or simply just take it! Hands down one of the most desired destinations on the planet for experienced saltwater anglers and very likely on everyone’s bucket list.
In the spirit of adventure, this is the trip for those who want to see Alaska was like before lodges were around. This is co-assist wilderness float/camp trip on a remote river in northern Kamchatka. Bears, check! Tons of aggressive rainbow trout, check! No other anglers, check!
This falls into that category of how badly do you really want to fish for these fish. We have fished in this region before and it is spectacularly off the grid, dynamic and nearly uncharted. Casting to cruising fish in the reef flats and playing/stopping them before they run off the edge will test everything you can possibly bring to the game.
John Day River, Oregon — Wild Steelhead
TBD 2021 — Host: Dave
5 day/4 night package float/camp — $ ??? per angler
4 anglers maximum – FULL
This is the first year we have been able to offer something like this and we are SO excited. With our long time friends Marty and Mia Sheppard, we have exclusive access to 30,000 acres or 6 river miles of pristine steelhead water while staying in a cabin down in the canyon near the river. The John Day River has the largest in tact run of wild/native steelhead in the entire Columbia River basin.
Flat out, a location any trout fly angler must spend some time wetting a line. The incredible scenery, challenging conditions and overwhelmingly friendly people are responsible for creating a highly desirable location to visit. So much so we have decided to visit both the north and south islands to two of the most renowned lodges there, Poronui on the north and Owen’s River on the south. Please join us for this dream trip to Kiwi land.
This is a one of kind trip set up for us. Fish a few days in the jungle chasing spooky tarpon in the upper reaches of these jungle rivers then travel out of the jungle and head out to the coast and fish the estuary of the Rio Colorado for giants, sometimes feeding like stripers in mass in the open water of the Caribbean.
One of if not the most legendary locales to chase wild steelhead in the world. Silver Hilton Lodge in the late fall brings cold temps but also, usually more reliable water flows. With over 20 miles of access swing flies with us on the pristine Babine River, absolutely a trip of a lifetime for the chrome aficionado.
You will feel likely are at the far end of the planet with nothing but a watery horizon in every direction. This tiny little island in the Caribbean boasts some of the most untouched bonefish and permit water literally on the planet. We have been going here to Guanaja for almost 10 years now and couldn’t be more thrilled to get back and see our old friends.
Cuba is without question a fabulous place to fish, zero debate about this but often we look past the local vibe as we are too focused on the fish. Well not here. Please join Cuba expert and good friend Jon Covich for a co-hosted experience in Cuba that won’t allow this to happen…
