From People Magazine to Midcurrent comes this:
Belgian paraglider and Red Bull X-Alps participant Thomas de Dorlodot tells the story of his record-breaking high-altitude paragliding flight through the Himalayas—an adventure for which he packed, among other things, his fly rod and a box of flies.
“I even have my fly fishing rod and a box full of flies because we are heading to some of the best trout fishing spots on earth and I am hoping to catch some fish for dinner. This fishing rod will fly for the first time and it’s probably the highest rod on earth when I reach 6443m with Horacio a few hours later.”
That is some dedication to bring a fly rod along on such a trip with so little space!
