Most have heard the stories. Numbers of chrome bright wild steelhead in the tens and even hundreds of thousands that once returned to these legendary rivers of the Puget Sound region. While they are not what they once were in numbers of fish they certainly retain in lore and magnificence when standing in their cool clear waters. Rivers in this region include:
Skagit River
Sauk River
Stillaguamish River
Skykomish River
Snoqualmie River
Green River
While not every day brings a fish to hand, we love our home steelhead waters and thoroughly enjoy introducing them to new anglers, helping them to understand the history and formulate strong opinions on caring for them and the fish in the future while swinging flies over water once covered by those who shaped our sport.
We use exclusively two handed rods on our rivers for a number of reasons. First is we are absolutely dedicated to spey casting and swinging flies and believe if you are going to hire a guide to who you water, that person should be passionate about the methods employed and well versed in how to teach them.
By learning this craft, you will find yourself an improved angler in all other facets of the sport. Reading water, managing line, casting and patience in the pursuit. Nothing will teach you these skills better than two handed casting and few if any are more dedicated to it than us.
